More far east than the far east

Map of the Soviet North-East Defence Line.

The Soviet Far East Army's ц-series of Frontline Bases are located on the Kamchatka Peninsula, and serve as auxiliary supply depots for troops operating against the BETA incursion from the west, originating from the Evensk Hive and beyond. Four bases, numbered ц-01 to ц-04, along with the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Base,[1] form the core insfrastructure of the Soviet Army's Northeast Defence Line.

In particular, the Ц-series Frontline Bases are located along the Sredinny Mountain Range bisecting the Kamchatka Peninsula, and also serve as vital points along the Kamchatka District Defence Line, which runs directly over and parallel to the mountain range.

To date, the only base that has been seen is ц-04. The others are mentioned, but are not featured in any story.

ц-04 Frontline Supply Base[]

ц-04 Frontline Supply Base.

The fourth and last base in the Ц-series, ц-04 is the southernmost base, and the one closest to the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Base. Located in Koryaksky Autonomous Okrug, Milkovsky District, the base served as the hosting location for the test flights of the United Nations' Project PROMINENCE in 2001,[2] as well as the home of the Soviet Army's 211 Batalon Zhar, which was assigned to Project PROMINENCE as escorts for the test flight. One more unit, the 967th Tactical Armor Division, was also known to have been stationed in the base.

During the later stages of the Kamchatka military exercises, the base came under heavy attack from a BETA surprise attack, on the 19th of August, 2001, and an evacuation order was given early into the battle. Much of the base's facilities were destroyed during the attempted retrieval of the EML-99X, which had been brought to the base for live firing tests, and most of the infrastructure was later leveled by Tu-95 bombers. What happened to the base afterwards remains unknown.
