Tarisa Manandal is a side character appearing in all of the main Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse stories. She is also featured in a Total Eclipse sidestory, published in TSFIA Cross Operation Vol. 1.
An outgoing person by nature, Tarisa mixes well with other people, and despite her boorish behavior at times she cares for them in her own way. Of all the members of Argos Test Flight, she interacts with Valerio Giacosa the most, often getting into verbal sparring matches with him.
Never one to hide her emotions, Tarisa rarely backs down from a challenge, and does not take well to losing in anything, being ignored, or having her intentions rebuffed. Given her personality, Tarisa only shows respect to those she deems have earned it from her, and seldom takes orders or criticisms without complaint from anyone other than Argos Test Flight's commander, Lieutenant Ibrahim Doğulu. Because of her loud nature and small stature, she was given the nickname of Chobi by Yuuya Bridges, something she took rather personally. It is also hinted she has feelings for Yuuya.
Total Eclipse[]
Hailing from the now-exiled Nepalese Army, 2nd Lieutenant Tarisa Manandal was assigned to the Phoenix Initiative and the XFJ Program as a test pilot of Argos Test Flight, with the callsign of Argos-2. Her ethnic background as a Ghurka is well-known for its bravery and fighting spirit, and this nature is also reflected in Tarisa's TSF piloting style as a preference for melee combat. Prior to participating in Project PROMINENCE, she carried out trials of the F-5G Tigershark in the Andaman Islands.
For most of her stay at Yukon Base, Tarisa piloted an F-15･ACTV Active Eagle in most of her previous combat exercises, as well as during the ц-04 Frontline Supply Base Incident, at the Kamchatka Peninsula. During the Blue Flag combat exercises, she switched over to the XFJ-01b Shiranui Second Unit 2 after its completion, just in time to join Argos in combat against Bao-Feng Test Flight. She remained as the XFJ-01b's pilot throughout Blue Flag and the Yukon Base Incident, and was injured in the latter incident by the berserk Scarlet Twins.
Later, after leaving Argos Test Flight, she participated in Operation Ouka, piloting a green F-18 Hornet.
