McDaell

McDaell Doglam was a major American aerospace manufacturing corporation and defence contractor, formed by the merger of McDaell and the Doglam. Between then and its own merger with Boening on 1st August 1997, it produced several well-known military craft such as the highly succesful F-15 Eagle and, in collaboration with Northrock, the lightweight F-18 Hornet. Notably, it was a principal subcontractor on both the ATSF-23 program, led by Northrock, and the HI-MAERF program, alongside North Americana and Lockweed.

Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, the company devolved into severe financial pressure as a result of its involvment with the HI-MAERF, A-12 Avenger and YF-23 Black Widow II. Its merger with Boening came about as the purchasing of military craft was curtailed from the late 1980s, following the practical realisation of the G-Bomb. This curtailment in military procurements combined with the loss of the contracts for four major projects, the Advanced Tactical Surface Fighter [ATSF], the Joint Strike Tactical Surface Fighter [JSTSF], the Advanced Tactical Surface Attacker [ATSA], and the HI-MAERF, severely hurt McDaell Doglam.

Products[]

HI-MAERFs[]

McDaell Doglam and Lockweed entered a consortium with North Americana as prime contractor for the Hi-MAERF program. The program had conceived four complete concepts, lettered a to d. Out of these four, both the XG-70a and XG-70b were completed and operational, XG-70c was abandoned due to budgetary constraints, and the final XG-70d variant was partially completed (largely repurposing parts from the XG-70a).

Tactical Surface Attacker[]

Technical issues, cost overruns, rising unit costs, and long delays led to the termination of the McDaell Doglam's role in the ATSA program, which resulted in the A-12 Avenger.

Tactical Surface Fighter[]

The first 1st generation TSF, developed from the NCAF/NCSF-X Prototypes, the F-4 Phantom was and still is the most widely used TSF to date. Even 30 years after its first deployment, the F-4 Phantom remains in use by numerous nations; some to maintain an inexpensive reserve of equipment and others out of necessity due to their proximity to the front. Orignally manufactured by McDaell, prior to merger.
A well-known and well-developed 2nd generation TSF that would push the limits of 2nd generation TSFs with new variants. Further development of the F-15 was continued by Boening after McDaell Doglam was bought over by the former corporation.
While the YF-17 Cobra was developed by Northrock as part of the LWTSF program, its successor, the F-18 Hornet, was headed by McDaell Doglam with Northrock taking a secondary role. Controversy arose with the development of the F-18E/F Super Hornet, after which Northrock later sued McDaell Doglam for developing the Super Hornet without its permission.
McDaell Doglam assisted Northrock in the development of the YF-23 prototypes.
