A TSF manufacturer of the Soviet Union, and a rival company to Sufoni.

While they initially dominated the Soviet TSF industry with their designs, the MiG-series of TSFs slowly fell out of favor with USSR troops after the introduction of Sufoni's Su-27 Zhuravlik.

Tactical Surface Fighter

• MiG-21 Balalaika

A 1^st generation TSF developed by MiG, using the F-4R as a base model for modification. The MiG-21 would eventually become the workhorse of communist-aligned nations for many years to come.

• MiG-23 Cheburashka

A quasi-1^st generation TSF developed by MiG. While it was considered high-performance for a TSF of its time, the MiG-23 was notoriously maintenance-intensive compared to the reliable MiG-21.

• MiG-25 Spirt-Voz

A 2^nd generation TSF developed by MiG, based off analysis of F-15 Eagle scrap discretely obtained from the frontlines. The MiG-25 was designed to carry out a very specific combat doctrine, which was to use speed to break through BETA hordes and assault the Hive directly with strategic weaponry. Actual combat situations proved the doctrine to be ineffective, and the MiG-25 became infamous for its lack of combat effectiveness outside of its intended role.

• MiG-27 Aligatori

A 2^nd generation TSF developed by MiG. The MiG-27 is a much-improved version of the MiG-23; however, by the time of its introduction, it was already considered a dated TSF. Nevertheless, it is still in use by the Soviet Army.

• MiG-29 Lastochka

A 2^nd generation TSF developed by MiG. The MiG-29 Lastochka is the culmination of all of MiG's expertise, and while it lost to the Su-27 Zhuravlik for the position of the Soviet Union's mainline TSF, it is fairly popular as an export product, and further developments are underway to improve the Lastochka-series to 3^rd generation status.

• MiG-31 Plamya-Lisa

A 2^nd generation TSF developed by MiG, and a refinement of the MiG-25. Many of the base model's faults were fixed, and Western technologies have also been incorporated into its systems.

• Project 1.42/1.44

A TSF project undertaken by MiG. While the project purpose was to develop a cutting-edge 3^rd generation TSF, it was not completed.

Trivia

• The name of this corporation is a reference to the real-world Mikoyan Design Bureau, formerly named the Mikoyan-and-Gurevich Design Bureau (Russian: Конструкторское Бюро Микоян и Гуревич).
